Simple Feng Shui Tips for Mirror Placement

Did you know mirrors can be a powerful feng shui tool or if placed incorrectly can bring ill misfortune? Where have you placed a mirror? Homes and work places all have good or bad health , luck, or prosperity corners. If the mirror happens to be in a bad corner, it will amplify & create more negative energy to bring in health problems, financial loss and bad luck. Please enjoy and follow my feng shui tips to amplify good energies with a mirror!

What Type of Mirror do you need?

Feng Shui Mirrors can come in 3 shapes: flat, convex (pointing outward) or concave (recessed inward). All 3 shapes have a special purpose. A flat mirror can block energy. A convex mirror will push the energy out or a concave mirror will bring energy in.

Tip #1:

Mirrors is should not directly face any doors. The only exception is in the bathroom because a mirror just like the toilet is an essential part of the bathroom. Additionally, toilet and bathtub will flush energies out, so no worries with having a mirror in your bathroom. Back on track, a mirror facing a door will be the first object you see when the door is open. This Mirror is continuously creating, trapping, and expanding energies as the door open and closes which can create a negative energies for the home or work place. In the long run this wrong placement of a mirror can bring health ailments to the user.

Tip #2:

Do not place a mirror in the kitchen to reflect the range (especially open kitchen)! A range represents the fire elements of your home or work place. Having a mirror will amplify the fire elements. Too much fire element will bring sizzling disasters & emotions of anger, impatience, conflict, & fights. It can also be create health problem such as high blood pressure, skin, vision and heart problems.

Tip #3:

Do you have a mirror facing a neighbor? That is a big NO, NO! When practicing Feng Shui, we believe in karma, self respect, good deeds & harmony. We do not use feng shui to benefits ourselves and do harm to others. A mirror facing your neighbor may cause them health problems but also capture that energy and bring it back to you. We only put mirrors facing out to capture pleasant nature scenes to bring in some of that harmonious tranquility. It is not necessarily true to use mirrors for reflections of rather sharp pointy objects, construction zones, corners of a building etc. That I have other solutions!

Tip #4:

No mirrors facing the bed! Mirrors can amplify energies and creative an over stimulating environment for sleep. Just remember a mirror in the bedroom is fine if it is not in view of the bed. It can be in the closet or use a drape to cover it when not in use.

Move it, cover it or get rid of it!

If you have an ill placed mirror causing disaster, sickness or conflicts move it, cover it or just get rid of it! Keep in mind for example, a door & mirror scenario: merely increasing the distance between the mirror and the door will not correct the negative effects. If the mirror cannot be moved you can always adjust or change it’s angle so it does not directly reflect the door, or cover it with drapes.

Feng Shui consists of 2 guiding principles: Money and Health. Money allows us to buy what we desire and need for basic life. Health allows us the ability to work and function to earn money. Both go hand in hand. A good Feng Shui consultant can point out the negative and positive elements for your home or business to achieve maximum balance of the 2 guiding principles.
